How To Plan A Fall Wedding On A Budget ~ Colorado Wedding Photographer

Along with choosing the dress, venue, guest list, and the flowers, one of the most important wedding decisions any couple can make is the season. As a future bride to be, all of the decisions can seem overwhelming because every season has its perks. There are many noteworthy reasons to have a fall wedding: Stunning colors, cool temperatures, and the nostalgia that we carry with us through the years. It is no wonder this is one of the most popular times to say "I do" to your life partner. Fall is such a beautiful season to have your wedding which can mean it is the most expensive time to book your special day. Here are some ways to still have a fall wedding while on a budget:

"Brogan was so much fun to work with, and did such a great job photographing us! She works quick, and has your pictures beautifully edited and sent your way very fast! I'd highly recommend her for anything, from wedding photos and elopements, to engagement shoots and mini shoots!"

1- THE DECOR:

If you don't have a large budget to spend on decorations, consider all of the resources that fall has to offer. Pumpkins are a great way to add some color and get people in the season. You and your partner can even plan a date night during the proceeding weeks to carve them together for your special day decor. Rather than using money on sparklers or bubbles for the iconic "rice throw sendoff", maybe consider gathering some fallen aspen leaves for your guests to toss to add some color to your send off! You can even use what nature provides for place settings by gathering pine cones, logs, rocks, or even acorns to make every place-card unique and personalized!

2- THE FLOWERS:

Be sure to hit up a local farmers market for fresh cut flowers such as mums, daisies, and sunflowers. You can even use eucalyptus to fill your bouquet! Assembling bouquets is such a fun activity for the bridesmaids to do before the wedding because it is a great social activity and each attendee can personalize their bouquet to make it their own!

3-PARTY FAVORS:

To continue with the fall theme, your guests can leave with a caramel apple favor or packets of sunflower seeds for the ride home. This is a sweet way to say thank you if you are on a budget!

4-THE FOOD:

If you are looking for a budget friendly way to serve your meal at your wedding, consider serving a cozy meal family style. Fall side dishes like mac and cheese, sweet potato pie, and comfort casseroles are festive, yet cost effective. Family style meals also allow for your guests to be brought together and allow for conversation. This also can save more money because you will not have to hire more servers to personally bring each plate of food to each guest.

When it comes to weddings, the cake can be a statement piece. However, maybe you want to make some seasonal desserts like warm apple pie or fruit cobbler! You can even serve hot apple cider or hot chocolate (spiked if you prefer!) as your house drink!

5- THE PHOTOGRAPHY:

How can I hire a wedding photographer in my budget? I am always here to answer any questions that my wedding couples may have and work with their budget. Some cost-effective way to save money with photography is to hire right away. Photographers may book up 1-2 years in advance. Some may increase their prices as they gain more experience, so be sure to lock in those prices quickly!

The digitals: I offer digital photos for you to have the printing rights. This way you always have your photos and can order prints at your leisure.

Discounts: Photographers including myself may offer seasonal discounts. If they are not advertised, be sure to ask if any discounts are offered because you may be in luck! If you are interested in booking your wedding with me, I am offering discounted pricing to the first 25 couples who book with me! I understand how challenging wedding planning can be, especially during a pandemic. I am here to help and would love to be considered to capture your special day!
